We are a multi-therapist office located in downtown Cookeville, TN. We specialize in massage therapy (relaxing and deep tissue), myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, shiatsu, lymphatic drainage and neuromuscular therapy. Our staff consists of licensed, professional therapists practicing in a soothing atmosphere.

Our staff consists of internationally trained and nationally recognized therapists. Elise Brown, owner and head therapist, has over 10 years experience as a massage therapist. She is Tennessee state licensed, nationally certified, a member of the ABMP (Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals), and has studied myofascial release with John Barnes, PT, and craniosacral therapy with the Upledger Institute. Our philosophy is to provide a much-needed melding between massage-as-pampering and massage-as-clinical-therapy. Our office is arranged and decorated to relax and soothe you as soon as you step through our doors. We offer various pampering-style treatments, such as Swedish massage and hot stone massage, but we also offer very therapeutic modalities, such as myofascial release, lymphatic drainage, and deep tissue neuromuscular massage. Each of our therapists has a different specialty, and we frequently consult with one another and refer to one another, giving you, the client, quite a knowledge base from which to draw. We do not offer facials and bodywraps, since we choose to focus purely on bodywork therapy. And we are not part of a health club, hair salon, nail studio, or anything else that could potentially be smelly or noisy. Center of Balance strives to bring you many of the latest therapy styles that you've read about in the national media, but at actual affordable prices. We are located in Cookeville, which is a small city of about 30,000 about 90 minutes from either Nashville, Knoxville, or Chattanooga.

Each of our therapists offers unique days and hours of availability, but we usually have appointment times available from 9:00 am until 6:00 pm, Monday through Saturday. Appointments can sometimes be scheduled earlier or later, with advance approval from the therapist. Our rates are as follows: Massage Therapy: $25 - half hour ($30 with Elise Brown) $45 - one hour ($50 with Elise Brown) $65 - hour-and-a-half ($75 with Elise Brown) Craniosacral Therapy / Myofascial Release / Reiki $50 - one hour $75 - hour-and-a-half Hot Stone Massage $60 - one hour $80 - hour-and-a-half $100 - two hours (of sheer bliss!)
